last night we headed to the junction to the
mjolk shop for a retrospective on architect/designer george nakashima - the place was jammed packed and I'm surprised I was able to take photos without people in it - his work is truly stunning and the most amazing craftsmanship. his family were also in attendance. I have always seen photos of his work and it was really great to see the work in person. I love all the small details. it's on till august 30th.
gorgeous, just gorgeous
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I'm so jealous.
ReplyDeleteThere is something so warm and human in things made by a talented woodworker. It gives such a sense of protection and love.
ReplyDeleteactually, it was his daughter (and granddaughter and great granddaughter)... so nice to have seen you!
