thanks so much everyone for your kind words and birthday wishes, I really appreciate all the love and kindness.
I can't get enough of the new windows and I have a lot of new pillows at the brick and mortar, one day I need to do a photoshoot with them on a couch.  I should do that soon, but for now I wanted to show you this oblong pillow.  I really like the oblong shape, it's great for the small of your back.

I was talking with margie and we were wondering if blogging was dead?
I like to go on instagram and facebook, both of those are so immediate, you post something and you get a response so fast.  here on the blog I wonder if anyone is out there, but I don't plan on leaving the blog anytime soon, it's holds a special place for me and this format allows me to ramble ;-)

p.s. my shipment of buckles for the DAY bag adjustable strap should be here in a week, so folks are putting themselves on a email list that you can find on the listing. that would be the best way to get emailed when it's ready.

  1. I think the difference with blogging is that people follow you on a distance. I think it's easier to say "wow, amazing!" on an Instagram photo or Facebook post (or just a simple like) than doing so on a blog post. I feel so silly for only commenting "gorgeous!". :)

I read every post you made and I'm excited to see more.

  2. I might be a bit 'behind' on what is going on with new media (I'm not on instagram and hardly on facebook), so I would be so sad if blogging would be over. I love following you over here!

  3. I don't know if blogging is dead, but FB & IG have taken over blogging & Flickr too. Even in comparison to a couple of years ago, people comment less & most probably visit less. But it won't stop me blogging neither.
I've joined Bloglovin last week & I think that it helps me keeping more on track with the blogs I follow. I try to comment more, but I can't possibly comment everywhere.

  4. Sure there are people out there reading your blog, and maybe mine too, but I suppose we don't really have time to comment any more!Instagram is nice but for us here as wifi is not availiable everywhere we can't do it as often as we would like!AriadnefromGreece!

  5. one of the reasons we don't have a television is because i don't want to be bombarded with advertisements (there are other reasons of course) and I also find most of the blogs i used to follow are filled with ads as well now. I find it akin to pollution and I don't visit those sights anymore. I love your blog and those of my close friends. They are ad free and esthetically refreshing to my eyes. You only promote what you make yourself or people important to you. I hope you never stop blogging. xo

  7. Happy belated, Arounna!

I wonder too about the die-off of blogging. Comments are few and far between. I'm guilty of it too. I read but I rarely comment these days. The immediacy of facebook seems to appeal to me as well. I plan to keep blogging too because it seems a better format for sharing some things than fb is, but it sure does get quiet out there.

Love the oblong pillow. You do such lovely work.

  8. Instagram is fun -- little shots of inspiration scattered throughout the day -- but blogging remains a more satisfying, in-depth look into what people are doing. You do a great job of it and I admire your ability to post daily; you've become part of my morning ritual!

  9. I like blogging..it seems more intimate. It's like being invited into someone's home.
I can sit and peruse at my convenience.

  10. I love your blog - and blogs were how I found all of the people from whom I buy or who were my very first friends of fb. I avoided fb for many years before I took the leap, and only did so because of a private page in a course. I own a "dumb" phone - it doesn't take pictures, and I have no interest in an ipad at this point, maybe never. Therefore, instagram is unavailable to me, except when you or someone else invites us to look at your pictures. I would love to enter the contests there, but, alas, cannot.
I aspire to be more consistent, as you and Margie are, with my blog. Working full time, while starting all this is tricky, however.
Please keep blogging - it is more intimate, and reminds me a little of the really old days, when we would send photographs in our letters to our friends. Snail mail, anyone?

  11. I think there are still a lot of incredible blogs out there with wonderful words being woven into stories. I've taken a break from my own blogging as I kind of ran out of things to say, or rather felt I wasn't offering anything new from all the other many voices out there. I also don't comment often, but that hasn't changed over the years - if anything I comment more now. Mostly I hold back from commenting because of the pressure for something clever to say! But I do read a lot of blogs!

  12. I use Instagram religiously and facebook often, but I read my blog feed as a break up to my work days. I don't think I'll ever get fed up of my favorite blogs, yours included!

  13. I love your blog! I am an artist from Boston and enjoy hearing about creatives from around the world and what they are up to. Your blog is an insight into your studio and an inspiration to see all the hard work that goes on behind the scene. Thank you for blogging.

  14. When the kids are napping or having down time in the afternoon I read your blog. I make my tea in my afternoon tea cup. (no one dares to use it in the morning lol) I sit down and read your blog. It's my adult time. On Monday mornings I usually can't wait and jump on your blog at 6am PST because you have already posted. Thanks for sharing!

  15. I've been following you for few years now, I discovered your blog via Famille Summerbelle. I don't use instagram, and don't spend much time on fb. I prefer spend my time reading blogs I like, it's more close to a book or a magazine, with nice layouts, beautiful pictures and interesting contents. So thank you for your blog, that is still my favorite window on your work.

  17. Like many others who have commented, I love your blog! Its a window into your world and the beautiful things you make (I have a few gracing my home). It inspires me and is a lovely way to enjoy a few quiet moments. Thank you for being here!

  18. blogging is not dead, maybe it is just more for us who are a little quiet? Maybe too quiet. We are here! We are reading and writing and so happy to have you.

I read so many people's blogs, but I comment so rarely. I think it's true that the community is there, and kind, and welcoming, but maybe a different sort of community than say, facebook. Twitter. (Those things I avoid...) Blogging, I think, is more ... thoughtful, personal. More private. I would rather read your wonderful posts than "stalk" someone on facebook anyday ;)

Happy belated birthday, and thank you for this beautiful blog <3
