bday flowers leather straps new juki hello everyone,

I hope you had a lovely weekend, I sure did - we celebrated my birthday yesterday even though my actual birthday is tomorrow - I have always done that because if my birthday falls during the week the following weekend is usually canada day and most of the people we know go away to the cottage. I felt like my mom was cooking for days and for an army, everyone went home with extra food. this visit my mom mentioned to me she gets to celebrate all of her children's birthday - my brother's birthday is in july and my sister's in august.

I spend a lot of time sewing and getting a new machine is a bit unnerving and also exciting - so I've been using this new juki for about a week and it's an absolute dream, I think I'm getting things done faster and it's a real bonus that it's quiet, making it much more comfortable, my last industrial was pretty noisy.

one of the things my dad enjoys doing is cutting the leather for my straps, j dyes the edges and my dad waxes them, so much care and love goes in to each part of the bags.

I will have a giveaway this week, I think in a few days. so please come back again. lately I've been meeting you in person at the shop and I have to tell you it's still a bit abstract to me that folks are visiting and reading and I feel a bit shy sometimes, because I sometimes share my private thoughts and the veil is removed and you are getting to know me and I'm always a bit nervous that I may seem different in person, I hope you're not disappointed when you meet me :)

have a great monday! xxa

  1. I can imagine that you feel that way. I'm still surprised when people know things about me, and then I realize they read my blog. It's like anoter world I live in that's only creative and peaceful. Don't be shy, I think people who have creative and delicate blogs like you have can only be nice and sensitive people. Have a nice day!
