sometimes I will work on my embroidered collages for a long time and before I can live with them for a little bit - I exhibit them and sell them - the process is sometimes a bit sad for me, because you build a bit of an attachment to them - I know that I can't keep them all and it is best if they go out into the world and be loved by others. these two pieces sold so quickly that I only can remember them through photographs. geez if I feel this way about my artwork, how will I feel when my kids go to university? - I will probably be a babbling mess.
I had a fantastic day at the show yesterday!!! a big thank you to all the lovely people who make it possible for me to do this for a living. there's still three more days so I hope to get a chance to see some of you. I had many people mention how nice it was to see me at the booth - I am normally not minding the booth, because I am usually still making work in the studio - you either see my bro or john. some of the new things are close to being sold out, but there's still plenty of bookhou goodness.
have a wonderful weekend friends! xxa

  4. i know how you feel and yes it does hurt when they go off to university but if they have left a warm, creative and loving home, as I know yours is, they always come back.
I am so happy for your success at the show but not at all surprised.

  10. I love it when you share your artwork, so beautiful. I have the opposite problem, I hate having my work lying around in the studio and am happy to see it go. Don't know if I'll feel that way when my daughter's off to college.

  12. I feel the same way about my artwork - some pieces I hate to let go. My daughter is one/two years away from going to university and already I am turning into a babbling mess!
    Your artwork is stunning.
