the top image is the sewn pods from my drawings I printed on the washi paper - these will be incorporated with other textile elements. I love the blind embossing/debossing - (I love both) image I put on the back of all my cards.

  1. I've been intrigued about washi paper, since reading about it in a previous post. Your pods are very lovely and organic. I guess I might be drawn to them since I'm fascinated with the form and concept myself: http://www.sonyaphilip.com/sp_portfolio/pods_apart.html

  6. I like letterpressed - I don't care if it's not "correct" - who does she think she is - I know exactly who this is and the comments people are leaving on her blog is even more ridiculous "consider me schooled"

I love your work and she is a complete IDIOT!

  7. i think we all know who and where these comments are coming from as well as why. pointing out spelling mistakes is one thing (it happens all the time) but using it for obvious self-promotion and to suggest how better they are, not to mention using blogs to criticize others is downright rude. not exactly the qualities i would want in a teacher.

besides, i've seen your bio, i can't see how anyone who has spent her whole life in positive creative endeavors could be described as someone who 'dabbles'.very uncool.

i too like 'letterpressed'. its ok to be creative with words and descriptions and even break a few rules. forget about all the puritanicals- its just pettiness in the guise of authority.

  8. As a teacher, my goal is to inspire those in my classes to want to go out and start doing all of the things that I teach them - I think that is truly the point of someone wanting to learn something from you - they are looking to acquire a skill that they too can be passionate about. I am happy to say that several of my former students are still screenprinting, and I do everything that I can to help them with that endeavor.

also - 'letterpressed' was my idea, grammatically it sounds nicer than letterpress in this situation.

also - I love glassine bags!

  9. I'm so sorry that there are people out there whose lives are so small and insecure that they must spit and hiss at blooming flowers. (what a waste of time)
From the comments I see here and the love and support that they convey, it is clear to me that the truth is known.
This whole issue is nothing but a "tempest in a teapot". See it for what it is and walk away, it's her issue, not yours.

  10. thank you to all of you for your comments and support - I have kept a lot of the behind the scenes to myself - I did not blog or tweet about it - this was just so upsetting - this constant harassing and I am more than happy to walk away and enjoy my life that I left briefly to deal with this.

My blog is and will never be a place for negativity. I slipped for a moment and will not allow others negativity to bring me to this again.

    thanks again dear friends.
