As a graphic designer myself, I'm very pleased whenever I stumble upon the work of someone who takes upon themselves to do all the steps in making a finished product. It takes design to its roots, where the designer not only thinks about the finished product, but "designs" the means of doing it as well, from thought, to paper, to execution, to finished object.
