Richard Serra at the MOMA

Richard Serra is having a 40 year retrospective at the MOMA till September. Serra is one of a few last Modernist sculptors. Living in Toronto you don't get to see great massive sculptures like the ones above. The images are from the New York Times and this quote from NYT pretty much sums it up "There’s no coy narrative, no insider joke or historical allusion or meta-art theme. There’s none of what Mr. Serra disdainfully calls, in the show’s catalog, “post-Pop Surrealism,” by which he lumps together all contemporary art that leans for a crutch on language and Duchamp." Go and see the show if you're in New York.
