during the next month our BIA is having an exhibit in most of the businesses on our street - it's called DO PHOTO and it's part of contact photography festival - the photos had to represent our shop/business - they managed to find archival photos of some of the shops in the neighbourhood and it's fun walking along the street and seeing the photos of how old some of the business are and seeing portraits of the people behind the them.  I chose this photo of piper sitting in the window sewing because I guess j and I have a small part of us that hope that one or both children will continue this business that we have built, and this photo of her working on a manual machine gives me hope that she has a making bug.  I will be photographing more shop windows in the coming weeks. the second photo is of a business that is across the street from us that is now run by the daughter of the owner, but they once use to be next to us. our shop is front of the man in the photo, I don't think there's one that was found of our shop.

  4. Brilliant! Your shop apparently used to be a Portuguese Butcher (Talho Português).
