I started this piece during the one of a kind show - sewing the pieces together by hand and enjoying the accumulative process with the cotton and linen pieces. it's going to be a wall hanging approx. two feet squared. I am hoping to do a lot of hand sewing and embroidering on the surface during my break. I am exhibiting this piece in a vitrine case at the harbourfront centre as part of a group exhibit in january. this wall hanging makes a reference to landscape.

The colours are lovely, oh my such a big piece sewn by hand!
ReplyDeleteYou are still busy in your break :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is good that you are still able to find time to make and exhibit your own art in your busy life.
Looking forward to seeing more of the piece and also when it is in the exhibition.

i started something very similar that I was going to turn into a large brooch. Maybe we can do some hand stitching while sipping tea ( coffee for me) and snacking on gingersnaps.

Beautiful. I can't wait to see where you take it!
ReplyDeleteThat's so so beautiful. I'm honestly smitten with it. I tried hand-sewing a quilt a few months ago, but had to wear a wrist brace to keep up the pace. Eventually I used a sewing machine but the wrist brace helped a lot.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! U are SO talented A!
