well it's finally done b.a.h. issue 04 - it has a new look and more pages - a big thank you to all my contributors, especially to jen for doing most of the layout and design. we had a lot of fun playing email tag - it amazes me how you can get so much done without one on one face time. so tell me what you think and enter the giveaway - it is for two tulip weck jars the small one and the one litre design (I had taken photos, but I can't find it-found it!) anyways check out the weck site if you need more details (no. 744&745) - the giveaway will end on sunday september 18 at 10pm and a winner will be announced on monday.
I am signing off early and will take a much needed rest - see you monday.

I had trouble sleeping last night so viewed this in the middle of the night on my iPod Touch--not the best way to view it for sure. :) Just looked at it on my computer screen and it is stunningly beautiful and interesting. I read it from cover to cover. Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI loved the new issue and hopefully will cook some of the recipes soon! But I really adored Suzanne Carlsen's work! It is amazing what a talented person can do,thank you for introducing her to us!AriadnefromGreece!
ReplyDeleteI love the results of the mushroom printing, and I can't wait to try the taco recipe - fantastic work!
ReplyDeleteso beautiful, so inspiring. you never cease to amaze me! enjoy your rest and have a great show in montreal.....
ReplyDeletethe magazine looks great - the photographs are stunning. i think the bucket tote would be perfect for knitting supplies. and i can't wait to try spore printing and making terrariums. fun!
ReplyDeleteit's wonderful! i especially loved the terrariums section, and the studio tour. the calendar is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI always love the recipes! They look so tasty and the photography is always beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLike the Studio Visit section. Not being an artist myself, I'm fascinated with the workspace, details and items used, and the artists themselves.
ReplyDeleteArounna, I will be cooking, sewing and printing on my day off tomorrow, thanks to the wonderful articles in BAH MAG. It's beautiful, thanks for the inspiring articles. The presentation and flow of the magazine is great. Have a fabulous and restful weekend. -Rendell

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I can't see it, but I'd love to win the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the calendar!!!! And Margie's spore prints just blew me away. This is now my favorite BAH mag :-) and I also think it would be amazing to have it printed. I'd love to be able to hold one in my hands one day. Beautiful work Arounna & John! Enjoy your rest friend. Lotsa love xoxo

ReplyDeleteI just started reading your magazines and they are inspiring! thanks!
Waaaooo! Congrats, it's a beauty.
ReplyDeleteI love LOVE the mushrooms!
(and I like the jars too)
I can't wait to cozy up with this and a cup of tea tonight.
ReplyDeleteInteresting reading !! I will try the experiment on the mushrooms with my two children and of course the recipes... good moments in perspective, thank You for that !!
ReplyDeleteI really like the bleed to the edge photographs, esp the mushroom page. I also love when a magazine opens with recipes as opposed to closing with it...a celebration of food. The two page process spread seemed a little out of place right after the food article, and i might have moved it to after the studio visit in terms of colour and flow, but still! lovely lovely
ReplyDeleteYou have done a wonderful work with your team! I'll try to get some peaches from my parents-in-laws garden to make the salsa and will certainly try Margie's spore printing with my daughters.
ReplyDeleteThose jars are wonderful! I love the old fashioned feeling that this way of preserving gives me. It's all back to basics in this world of today.
my. heart. sings...
ReplyDeleteVery nice magazine! I especially like the peach salsa and the mushroom prints - what great ideas. I'm looking forward to owning my first bookhou piece: the beautiful 2012 calendar.

ReplyDeleteps wonderful, like always!
Wow - the new layout looks lovely. I enjoyed the peak inside a local studio, the fabulous recipe (yum) and the spore print insights. It was also lovely to get a sense of the process for creating the flock mobile...one for my wish list.
ReplyDelete...reading BAH 04 was a great way to spend a saturday morning.
Hi Arounna,
ReplyDeleteThe studio visit photography is lovely. Maybe in the next issue you could have a little how-to on getting started with simple woodworking :)? Like spoon carving... I've been thinking about that since our visit last Saturday. It was really nice meeting you and Piper! My daughter Anna had such fun pushing the chair around, and she now does the same at home with her new stool, which she kind of uses as a table for now, while she's too short to sit on it!
loved reading about the process of your flock mobile. I already loved the design, but reading about each step gave me a deeper appreciation. i am in love with a nice process, it seems to me that the care is always evident in the final object...anyways, hope that helps! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The photography is amazing, and I'm inspired!
ReplyDeleteHi Great issue! Love the styling and the products. The bag and skirt on the front page really pulled me in!
ReplyDeleteJenny
