hi friends,
I hope you had a good week thus far - I don't know if you noticed in my previous post that geninne from geninne's art blog will be doing a one day workshop here at bookhou. margie's been spear heading all of this and I think this will be an amazing visit.
as promised my new bags and both real favs - I will be posting these one of a kind bags in b.a.h. etsy shop this weekend - I am going to do more natural dyeing and try to get similar results - I have high doubts. the two new bags are called the mini and the day bag. both are beautiful and also bringing in some hand sewing for the straps (I stitched with really heavy thread and it is just as strong as machine sewing. I decided to make both bags be able to swing across your shoulder (so many requests for that) and the day bag has a nice metal zipper that I for the first time assembled myself - creating the size and putting in a new pull - I added the leather scrap on the pull giving it more of a grip - also the day bag has nice ample space for your things during your daily excursions. the mini is also made with the natural dye fabric and it has a nice thin strap - the mini is a nice size to hold your wallet and keys - I will be putting a snap closure for the inside of this bag.

    Beautiful! I especially love the colour and shape of the day bag. Will there be a few of each for sale? Wondering what my chances are of snagging one..

    I can only but applause your use of naturally dyed fabrics, even though as you pointed out, it's hard to reproduce an exact same dye. Each bag is going to be unique and awesome ! Can't wait to see them.

    I have so many bags already, but it is so tempting to to add one of these to my collection. These are so very beautiful Arounna. It's the unpredictable beauty of naturally dyed fabric that makes them so special.

    I'm VERY excited to be going to Geninne's workshop!

    Now I want to dye some organic canvas i have here and then beg you to sew me up a bag with a hand assembled metal zip

    Would you ever consider making your totes with a zip too?It is quite difficult to use them without one in a big city!AriadnefromGreece!

    the day bag I will only have four each very different and unique - the funny thing is I make bags, but am not a bag wearing person, but both of these I would definitely use!

    margie I would be happy to make one for you with your fabric.

    I absolutely love these bags Arounna! I'm going to try natural dyeing at the work room. A natural dyed bag would be perfect for summer!

    Yeah, just ordered the mini! Love the design with the leather straps hanging over and of course the dye looks stunning. And of course, I'm still loving your triangle tote bag, I use it everyday and love that little pocket so I never have to lose my keys and phone, a perfect design!
